The volume of foreign trade turnover of Hainan in January-July increased by 21.7%
In the first seven months of the year, the island province’s exports rose 30.1% year-on-year to 43.48 billion yuan ($6.1 billion). As for imports, during this period it increased by 18% and amounted to 89.57 billion yuan ($12.6 billion).
In July alone, according to customs data, the volume of external trade amounted to 17.94 billion yuan ($2.5 billion).
The highest indicators in terms of foreign trade turnover for the first seven months of this year were recorded in the cities of Danzhou, Haikou and Sanya. According to customs data, they amounted to 59.23 billion yuan ($8.3 billion), 47.56 billion yuan ($6.6 billion) and 15.75 billion yuan ($2.2 billion) — an increase of 16.4%, 42 .6% and 11.9% in annual terms, respectively.
ASEAN countries became a major trading partner of Hainan in January-July. Trade with them amounted to 19.04 billion yuan ($2.6 billion) — an increase of 0.9%. With the countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, the province’s trade increased by 12.2% and reached 43.58 billion yuan ($6.1 billion), and with the parties of the Belt and Road Initiative, it amounted to 45.07 billion yuan ($6.3 billion) — an increase of 15.9%.
